This training made me more intentional with my day to day practices of self care. When I quit drinking I was very mindful about carving about time to meditate, exercise, practice yoga, journal.
Lately, I had been less intentional about these practices and in hindsight realize my stress level had been building up. Jolene’s training reminded me to continually implement practices in my day to stay on track. The impact the training has had on my professional practices goes beyond coaching around alcohol use. Most clients I see have one or more unhealthy coping mechanisms when they are stressed, whether it be alcohol, sugar, tobacco, fast food. The techniques I learned in this training to balance the neurotransmitters and calm the nervous system can be applied to so many clients. I truly enjoyed how authentic Jolene was in our training. It was nice to have a training that included so many practical resources, not just all theory. I felt like I was given the practical tools to implement these coaching techniques.
